8th November 2022

Another early start, but we had the aircon on all night as it was so warm and sunny yesterday. So we did sleep reasonably well. I have been doing a good bit of yoga each morning to make up for the fact that I have not been running. I can't seem to find anything specific, so I recon it is just that kerb that I stepped off of when we first arrived.

Kathryn had a disappointing corn muffin for breakfast. So we got ready and left at 9am to get the ferry to midtown. It was sunny, but it felt a bit fresher this morning. I had worn short, but upstairs on the ferry I felt quite cold!

We got a x10 ticket book from the machine. It was too hard to figure out where to go as we had done this last time. We had great views from the top of the ferry.

We arrived at East 34th Street stop and walked across the road to another cafe by Hole in the Wall to have some breakfast/brunch. This was a really nice modern cafe with a glass exterior and lofty ceilings (and fake hanging plants on the walls!). The coffee was delicious which was very appreciated, and the food came literally within 5 minutes or so. The glass made it easy to watch all the dogs walking past with their owners.

The next part of the day was to walk over to the Rockafella CEnter to do some shopping. We stopped by Culture Coffee on the way. This shop we have been to before and they do really good cookies that they bake in house. So we grabbed some of those, but gave the coffee a miss as we had already had some that morning.

We had a good look around some of the shops, before then circling back to the ferry stop. I was getting tired so we stopped briefly to get a sandwich and sit down at a Pret A Manger. The route back included passing back through Central Station.

It was a lovely, if not long walk back. We went outside the UN building too, that we have previously visited. Hopefully we can go back at some point as the architecture is really spectacular on the inside.

We had about a 30 minutes wait for the return ferry, so no surprises we got another coffee whilst we waited.

We stopped by Stone street for an early dinner, we had some guacamole and tortilla crips/chips. Unfortunately I got quite bad indigestion from this, so we went to get some indigestion tablets and also some more snacks from Eataly to have later. Kathryn put on Men in Black to watch at the apartment which was fun as most of it was shot in New York.

At the end of the day, we did around 17,000 steps which will probably the most walking we will do in a single day during this holiday!
